VINTAGE MODERN KNITS WORKSHOP AND BOOKSIGNING

February 14th Special: One lucky person who registers and pays for the workshop by March 10th will be entered to win the workshop for free. This includes anyone who has already registered.

Join us on Saturday March 26th, as In The Loop, welcomes Courtney Kelly and Kate Gagnon Osborn of Fibre Company/Kelbourne Woolens, on their first new England stop of the tour promoting their new book, Vintage Modern Knits.

From 10:00 am to 1:00 pm they will be conducting an Intermediate Fair Isle Workshop called Bohus- Inspired Knitting. Bohus knitting is a great way to change up your traditional Fair Isle items. Involving the use of purl stitches in combination with 2- color knitting it can create either a pop of color, or it can mute colors depending on how they are used. Using the Baltic Beret as a sample, you will learn to use this technique to the best advantage and how to design their own Bohus inspired knitting. In this class you have the opportunity to learn intermediate Fair Isle techniques, including the addition of 3 color rows, purling in Fair Isle and two handed Fair Isle Knitting.

From 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm, Courtney and Kate will be signing copies of their new book, Vintage Modern Knits, and treating us to a trunk show, highlighting samples from the book, featuring Fibre Company’s Canopy Worsted, Canopy Fingering, Organik and Terra just to name a few.

Space is limited to 10 students and the workshop fee of $120.00 must be paid at time of registering. There are no refunds.

Price of workshop includes yarn for the project, the book, Vintage Modern Knits, and there is work that needs to be completed prior to the workshop. Lunch is being provided by In The Loop for those staying for the full day of events. (You must let us know,  when registering, if you are staying) Beverages will also be available as well as a morning snack.

*Size  16”  (1) and (3) needles are required for this project and are not included in the workshop fee.

*All students must pick up their materials in the week prior to the workshop so that you are prepared for class.

*The ribbing section of the beret must be completed prior to class so that all students are prepared for the instructional on the color work.

We look forward to seeing you all for this special day of events.
